Board Director Nominations
The IA Board Director nomination and election process is designed to ensure a fair, transparent and thoughtful selection of leaders who will advance the irrigation industry. The nomination period will close Friday, May 29. Please note: nominations must be submitted online via the link provided below for consideration.

Who can be nominated
- Individuals from a member company or organization in good standing can be nominated; the individual must be a voting member—regular, technical or organization.
- Nominees must be willing and able to serve a three-year term beginning December 2026 upon the conclusion of the Irrigation Show and Education Week.
- Self-nominations and peer nominations are welcome. For peer nominations, please review the process below, as there are questions that must be answered and confirmed by the nominee.
Selection process and timeline

1. Call for nominations
The IA Board Director nomination period opened on Tuesday, March 31, and will close Friday, May 29.
2. Application submission (March–May)
All nominees must complete a standardized application, including write-in responses to 10–12 questions related to:
- professional background and experience
- leadership experience
- alignment with industry priorities
- interest in IA Board service
3. Eligibility review (June)
Submissions are reviewed by the IA to confirm eligibility and completeness.
4. Committee evaluation (July–August)
The Directors’ Nominating Committee evaluates all nominees using a structured rubric focused on:
- leadership experience
- leadership traits and collaboration
- industry stewardship mindset
5. Finalist selection (July–August)
A group of finalists is selected based on qualifications, evaluation results and IA Board composition needs.
6. Interviews (July–August)
Finalists participate in structured interviews to further assess:
- strategic thinking and judgment
- ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- alignment with IA Board culture
7. Slate recommendation and approval (August)
The Directors’ Nominating Committee recommends a slate of candidates to the Board of Directors for final approval.
8. Member voting (September)
The approved slate of candidates is presented to the IA voting members via a formal ballot to confirm new Directors.
