2021 New Product Contest

New products are in the spotlight!

Learning about the latest new products, technologies and services is a top priority for those in the irrigation industry. In 2021, the new product contest will be a hybrid event — combining both virtual and live elements. The presentations and judging will take place virtually and free attendance will be offered. The products will be displayed at the Irrigation Show and Education Week, and the winners will be announced on Dec. 9 in the Innovation Hub on the show floor. Applications are now closed. Judging will be held virtually on Nov. 17 and 18 and is open to the public. Registration is required; check back for more details.

Applications will be accepted in the following categories:

agriculture irrigation
golf and sports field irrigation
landscape irrigation
landscape lighting
specialty agriculture irrigation*
specialty landscape irrigation*

*The specialty categories are products that are not an integral part of an irrigation system or landscape lighting system.

2021 New Product Contest Information

This year’s contest will blend the best features of last year’s virtual competition with the exciting aspects of showcasing these products at the Irrigation Show and Education Week.

Judging will take place virtually, and the live digital presentations will be open to the public free of charge.
Winners will be announced at the Irrigation Show and Education Week on Dec. 9.
New! Contestants are not required to be an exhibitor at the Irrigation Show or an IA member so anyone can enter.* The IA will provide
— a 2' x 2' pedestal or a 2' x 4' draped table and signage for display.
— electricity and water, if required.
New product entries will be featured on the Irrigation Show website, offering an opportunity to learn more about your product before the show.

*Entrants are required to attend the Irrigation Show and staff their display in the new product contest presentation area during show hours.

Contest Dates

Applications open – May 3
Application deadline – Aug. 30
Contestants sent acceptance – Sept. 3
Product presentations and judging – week of Nov. 15
Product setup at the Irrigation Show – Dec. 7

Fees

$1,000 – first product*
$550 – each additional product* (A separate agreement form must be submitted per entry.)

*An invoice will be attached to acceptance notifications and is payable upon receipt.

Product Eligibility

New! Products and services must have been introduced and available for purchase between Sept. 1, 2019, and Nov. 15, 2021, to be eligible for consideration.*
Products submitted for acceptance in the agriculture irrigation, golf and sports field irrigation, and landscape irrigation categories must be an integral part of an irrigation system in order to deliver, disperse or manage water for irrigation.

*Products and services entered into the 2020 New Product Contest are not eligible in 2021.

Choosing the Winners

Products will be evaluated by a panel of judges based on innovative and/or “changed-for-the-better” qualities; increased or improved irrigation, water or energy efficiency; ease of use; cost benefits; time savings and design quality.

One winner in each category will receive

an award suitable for display.
free publicity to industry media, including social media posts and a press release.
customized new product contest logo artwork for company marketing.
recognition on the Irrigation Show website.
recognition in the Winter issue of Irrigation Today (ag irrigation and specialty ag irrigation categories).
recognition in the January issue of Irrigation & Green Industry (landscape irrigation, specialty landscape irrigation, golf and sports field irrigation, and landscape lighting categories).
