Contest Information

This year marks 20 years of the esteemed new product contest. The Irrigation Association is excited to celebrate the ongoing success of this unique contest as it continues to showcase new irrigation technologies. The 2022 contest will again feature virtual product presentations that will be hosted in October and open to the public free of charge. Then the products will be showcased at the Irrigation Show and Education Week in Las Vegas.

  • Contestants are required to be an exhibitor at the Irrigation Show.
  • New product entries will be featured in the product showcase on the Irrigation Show website. Each product will be linked to the company’s website offering attendees an opportunity to learn more about your product before the show.

Virtual Judging

  • Each contestant is required to submit a 6-to-8-minute prerecorded video presenting their product and detailing the product’s technical aspects and its economic and environmental impact. (Accepted video files include .MOV or MP4. A video phone presentation is acceptable if in the appropriate format.) Be sure to
    • expand upon details provided on the application and add additional pertinent information.
    • practice and review the presentation (e.g., presenter’s distance from camera, product in clear view, professional background, proper lighting, etc.).
    • stay within the allotted time. The presentation will either be returned to be redone or turned off at eight minutes.
  • Each contestant’s prerecorded presentation will be shown over Zoom followed by a live question/answer period with the judges.
  • The judging will be open to the public free of charge.

On-Site Display

  • Products will be displayed in the new product contest area on the show floor. The IA will provide
    • a 2' × 2' pedestal or 2' × 4' draped table for display.
    • electricity, if required.

  • Winners will be announced at the Irrigation Show and Education Week on Dec. 8.
  • It is highly recommended that contestants staff their display in the new product contest presentation area during show hours to promote their product and answer attendee questions.

Contestants are required to be an exhibitor at the Irrigation Show.
