South Bend businessman elected to IA Board of Directors

FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA (Dec. 8, 2017)
— The Irrigation Association is pleased to announce that Bryan Wynen, CIC, CLIA, CLWM, president of WISSCO Irrigation and CEO of Springwise Facility Management, has been elected to the IA Board of Directors.

Wynen joined his father at WISSCO Irrigation in 1978. Under his leadership, the company has grown substantially from its small beginnings. It now provides services in all 50 states and Canada and employs approximately 120 people. Throughout his career, Wynen has been involved in several different aspects of the residential, commercial and golf irrigation industries, including maintenance, design and installation. Wynen recently received The Toro Company’s WaterSmart award for leading the way in water conservation and proper water management.

“Being nominated to serve on the IA Board is an honor and a privilege that I do not take lightly. As a board member, I am representing not only an industry in which I have participated for 40 years, but also all the members whom I consider my peers, mentors and friends,” Wynen said. “I will do my best to advance the irrigation industry, given all of today’s challenges. I firmly believe we have a duty as an industry to help protect our world’s water supply by using the most advanced products and principles available to us.”

Wynen joins additional newly elected board members Barbara Booth of San Diego, California; Michael Dukes, PhD, PE, CID, of Gainesville, Florida; John Newlin, CIC, CIT, CLIA, of North Ridgeville, Ohio; Gene Ross, PE, CID, of Fremont, Nebraska; and Monty Teeter of Ulysses, Kansas.

The IA Board of Directors establishes the association’s strategic direction, policies and programs. The board monitors current and evolving industry trends, determines strategic priorities, defines public policy positions and acts as stewards of IA’s financial resources. Directors are elected each fall by regular members of the association and represent the diversity of member types and market segments.
