Kyle Brown named editor-in-chief of Irrigation & Green Industry

FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA (Oct. 14, 2019) — The Irrigation Association has hired Kyle Brown as its new editor-in-chief of Irrigation & Green Industry. Brown takes on the new role following Kristin Smith-Ely, who was editor-in-chief until September 2019.

Brown comes to Irrigation & Green Industry with eight years of editorial experience in business-to-business publishing across print, online and broadcast. His previous magazines focused on turf management and landscape business. He has been working as a journalist for 13 years.

“We are so excited to have Kyle on our team,” said Deborah Hamlin, CAE, FASAE, publisher of Irrigation & Green Industry and CEO of the Irrigation Association. “He will use his skills and talents to ensure we maintain our high level of reader satisfaction and to assist in the development of more customized options for our advertisers to reach their audience.”

Brown has developed green industry knowledge across market segments and has won two first-place awards and a Gardner award from the Turf and Ornamental Communicators Association. His accumulated industry and editorial experience will support the continued development and success of Irrigation & Green Industry.

“In the past year, Irrigation & Green Industry has really built on its long history of useful information for industry experts across our markets,” Brown said. “I’m excited to be working with the team to continue developing the magazine and providing the content our readers need.”

Brown will attend the GIE+Expo in Louisville, Kentucky, Oct. 16-18. For more information about Irrigation & Green Industry magazine, visit www.igin.com.
