Don’t-miss special events at the show

Networking with people who are in a similar place in their career is one of the best ways to share ideas and strategies for how to get involved in your industry, contribute to your company and reach your career goals. That’s why the Irrigation Association is excited to announce two popular events returning to this year’s Irrigation Show and Education Week: the women in irrigation social and the young professionals breakfast. Both events are sponsored by Hunter Industries.

Women in irrigation social

For women attending the Irrigation Show, this event has become a highlight of the week. The social is open to all female attendees and exhibitors. Join fellow irrigation colleagues Wednesday, Dec. 4, 5-6 p.m. for an opportunity to meet new industry friends, share information, participate in discussions and enjoy good food and wine.

This year, Christine Hawkins, specification manager for northern California at Hunter Industries, will be sharing valuable insight as a fellow female in the industry. She has over a decade of experience in the green industry, with knowledge of horticulture, water management and best practices in irrigation.

Young professionals breakfast

Are you one of the younger professionals in your company trying to figure out how to navigate the industry and your career path? The young professionals breakfast is open to all attendees under the age of 40 who are interested in networking with and learning from other rising stars in the irrigation industry. Join fellow young professional colleagues Thursday, Dec. 5, 7:30-8:30 a.m. for coffee and breakfast at this special event.

The energy and creativity young professionals bring to the table will have an important impact on the irrigation industry now and in the future. Not only can you come to connect with other young colleagues, IA CEO Deborah Hamlin, CAE, FASAE, will share about the importance of leadership development, serving as ambassadors of our industry and the personal benefits that come from volunteering with the IA.
