Irrigation Show: Looking forward to better days ahead

We have never lived with so much uncertainty. Will my family and friends be safe? When will we be able to return to “normal”? How long will it take for the economy to recover?

The Irrigation Association is here for you through this difficult time. We will get through this; we are resilient. As you and your company work to manage business and operations during this time, I want you to be assured that IA staff are working with state and federal governments to ensure these unprecedented regulations are as favorable as possible for irrigation. In addition, we are also continuing our plans for the 2020 Irrigation Show and Education Week, Nov. 30-Dec. 4 in San Antonio.

Though it isn’t clear when shelter in place and social distancing will be lifted, we do know that we are programmed to be with each other. Not only do our businesses get a boost, but we benefit personally and professionally when our industry comes together once a year to interact, learn and focus on irrigation. Come December, we will be needing, more than ever, to be with our colleagues to strategize how to rebuild our businesses, continue the education that was halted this spring and gear up for a better 2021.

For the 2020 Irrigation Show, we are mixing up the schedule and concentrating on things that you told us are the most important to you. Not only will there be an exhibit hall full of all the latest technologies, there will be more educational opportunities than ever before with Industry Insights, IA University and the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers/Irrigation Association 6th Decennial National Irrigation Symposium.

San Antonio has always been a terrific location for the Irrigation Show. It’s also a fun location for family, so this year we will be adding a number of family-friendly activities. The Riverwalk will be decorated for the holiday season, and with highs in the 60s, it will be the place to extend your Thanksgiving celebrations.

Stay tuned and watch the Irrigation Show website for more details as they become available. Better days are ahead, and we look forward to celebrating them with you in San Antonio.
