Apply for the Irrigation Foundation’s Scholarship Program

FAIRFAX, VA (Nov. 18, 2016)
— The Irrigation Foundation is excited to announce the new Irrigation Scholarship Program. The Foundation launched the program in an effort to support its mission to promote careers in irrigation.

By providing financial support toward the education of worthy scholarship candidates, the program will promote the study of careers in the irrigation field, benefit the community through a better educated workforce, reveal the ever-expanding irrigation industry to scholarship candidates, and strengthen the Foundation through a direct link to education.

The scholarship will be awarded in amounts ranging from $1,000 – $2,500 based on candidates’ letters of intent, financial need, reference letters, resumes and transcripts.

In order to meet the eligibility requirements, applicants must be currently enrolled (undergraduate or graduate) at a U.S. technical or vocational school, community college, university or similar institution of higher learning and be a U.S. citizen. Applicants must have taken or currently be enrolled in a class with an irrigation-related curriculum. Applicants must have a minimum of 2.5 cumulative grade point average, based on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must also demonstrate financial need.

Additional information about the annual scholarship and the application can be accessed on the Foundation’s website.

Scholarship applications are due by Feb. 15, 2017. Notification to award winners will be sent out by April 1, 2017. Please contact Foundation Director Janine Sparrowgrove (703.536.7080) with any questions.
