The EPA will provide an update on WaterSense activities related to irrigation products, specifically EPA’s review of the WaterSense specification for weather-based irrigation controllers and soil moisture-based control technologies.

This session will be an overview of the research results to date from the first inaugural research year. Several projects were funded, and preliminary results will be shared on topics including satellite- and unmanned aircraft system imagery-driven irrigation, developing an artificial intelligence model for estimating crop water demand and next generation soil moisture technology.
