SWAT Annual Meetings Held at
Annual International Irrigation Show
Smart Water Application Technologies or SWAT is a national initiative to achieve exceptional landscape water use efficiency through the application of irrigation technology. SWAT identifies, researches and promotes technological innovations and related management practices that advance the principles of efficient water use.
The SWAT process is led by the Irrigation Association in partnership with leading water purveyors, industry professional associations, and irrigation equipment suppliers.
Committee initiatives
- The first SWAT initiative (2002): research and promote climate- and sensor-based control systems.
- The second SWAT initiative (2006): research and promote rain sensor shutoff devices.
- Other initiatives may be implemented and shall be proposed according to the guidelines in the "Process Document for Considering New SWAT Efforts."
2006: San Antonio
The SWAT meeting was held November 7 from 10 am to 12 pm in the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.
