Worldwide Growth Reflects Value for
Farm and Landscape

Microirrigation continues to experience tremendous growth around the world. Micro-irrigation technology originated in the United States and arid Middle East. It is now used in a wide range of climates throughout the world- from deserts in the Sinai Peninsula, to the rolling hillsides of Greece, to the terraces of China, to the steep slopes of the Andes, to the great San Joaquin Valley. Drip represents between 7 to 10 percent of the irrigated crop acreage in the U.S., depending on your source.

It's anybody's guess how much drip irrigation is used for landscape irrigation. Some industry leaders say the drip landscape irrigation segment is growing about five percent per year. With communities tightening irrigationn restrictions arond the country, smart contractors are using drip as a water conservation sales tool for clients.
