Irrigation Association To Manage ICID Exhibition

The Irrigation Association will manage the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage Exhibition in Montreal, July 25-26, 2002 at the Palais des Congres Convention Center. Expected attendees will be 700 to 1,000 individuals from engineering and construction groups and government and non-government development agencies, from nearly 70 countries. This exhibition is a great opportunity to form relationships with the people making irrigation decisions in these countries.

Irrigation BMPs Will Be Presented at AWWA Conference

The Irrigation Best Management Practices (BMPs) and Guidelines, developed by the IA's Water Management Committee, are an excellent resource for water purveyors. Brent Mecham and Elizabeth Gardener will introduce the BMPs and Guidelines at the American Water Works Association Conference and Exhibition, June 16-20, New Orleans, La. Mecham is a landscape water conservation specialist with the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy. Gardener is the manager of water conservation with the Denver Water Department.

IA Refines Business Plan

Under the leadership of the IA President Rex Dixon, the IA board of directors, certification board, committees and common interest groups are in the process of developing a three-year business plan with achievement milestones and a detailed one-year implementation program.

The goal is to have all functional plans completed for review at the summer board meetings.
