Proclaim July Smart Irrigation Month

Encourage your town, city, county or state government to declare July Smart Irrigation Month. A proclamation can provide a platform to discuss advances in irrigation efficiency and to draw media attention to Smart Irrigation Month.

Download proclamation and press release templates as well as tips for using them.

Share Public Service Announcements (PSAs)

Radio stations play or read brief public service announcements throughout the day for nonprofit organizations. Contact the public affairs director of your local radio station in June and offer these public service announcements to be aired in July on behalf of the Irrigation Association or your local organization or utility for Smart Irrigation Month. Use these as a guide to creating PSAs for your community. Keep in mind, PSAs should be brief and include short sentences that are easy to read and hear.

Tips: Use the Internet to find AM and FM stations in your area and find contact information for the public service or public affairs director. Or call the radio stations directly  and ask how to submit PSAs. The station will probably provide a fax number or an e-mail address. And don't forget to use personal contacts if you have family or friends at a station.
