The Irrigation Association utilizes volunteer resources – members willing to volunteer their time and expertise – to fulfill its mission. Without volunteer assistance, the ability to provide needed programs, products and services would be severely limited.
The association, its certification board and Irrigation Foundation have committees that must be refreshed with new energy and ideas. Volunteer commitments are for two or three years. Most committees conduct their work via e-mail and occasional conferences calls, while others require face-to-face meetings and more hands-on work for specific projects and programs. Leadership opportunities to serve as committee chairs and vice chairs also exist; these seats are filled by those who have experience serving on an IA committee or board.
Committee descriptions (see links below) outline the committee’s purpose, time commitments, roles and responsibilities of committee members. They also note any special experience or preferred skill sets needed.
