Irrigation Foundation Welcomes Registrants & Grant Applicants for Ninth Annual Irrigation Faculty Academy

FALLS CHURCH, VA. (Feb. 28, 2011) — The Irrigation Foundation invites college and university instructors teaching irrigation to attend the ninth annual Irrigation Faculty Academy, June 22-23 in Walla Walla, Wash.

Agriculture, horticulture, turf and landscaping industry instructors will experience classroom and hands-on education in irrigation from industry professionals. Topics include landscape irrigation design, agriculture drip/micro irrigation and rainwater harvesting.

Attendees will also tour a local vineyard’s irrigation systems and explore system design and production at a local manufacturing facility. While networking with peers and Foundation representatives, participants will discover ways to enhance their curriculum and learn about irrigation careers in order to better counsel students.

While registration costs and most meals are underwritten by the Foundation, travel grants are also available. Grant preference will be given to those whose institutions can provide partial financial support. Grant applications must be submitted by April 28.
