FIS sponsoring an exam preparation workshop at the 2017 Irrigation Show & Education Conference

FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA (Sept. 11, 2017)
— The Florida Irrigation Society is sponsoring an exam preparation workshop at the 2017 Irrigation Show and Education Conference in Orlando, Florida, for the required technical exam (not the city/county exam) on Nov. 8. This exam is one of the two needed to obtain a Florida Irrigation Contractor license.

The irrigation contractor licensing exam is an open-book exam. Books allowed as references during the state exam must be brought to the workshop for use during the session. For a list of bookstores where books may be purchased, contact the FIS office at 727.209.1595.

The workshop will include a general review of content areas on the irrigation exam.

  • differences between the county exams and Florida exam.
  • test-taking strategies.
  • a simplified method to perform math calculations.
  • how-to tab books for easy reference during the exam.
  • recommendations on the best use of time during the exam.
  • practice exams.

Any attendee who fails the exam may retake the workshop at no cost within one year after participation in the prep workshop. For more information about the exam prep workshop or to register now, visit the FIS website or call 727.209.1595.
