Irrigation Faculty Academy
Educators of students at all levels need to have up-to-date information to enthusiastically train their students. The Irrigation Faculty Academy does just that! The Foundation holds both their agriculture-focused and landscape-focused faculty academies in June. The academies are two-day events that share the latest irrigation technologies and techniques that can be used in the classroom and give educators a place to network and collaborate with others. Both events are free to attend, and grant assistance to aid with travel expenses is available on a first-come, first-served basis. It is open to all instructors teaching at high schools and two- and four-year institutions.
The Irrigation Foundation hosted its two largest Faculty Academy groups yet, with 65 attendees, 46 of whom were first-time attendees. The 2017 agriculture Faculty Academy was held at the University of Nebraska Lincoln – Extension, June 8 – 9. The 2017 landscape Faculty Academy was held at Disney World’s Horticulture Services, June 15 – 16 in Orlando, Florida.
The location and date for the 2018 faculty academies will be announced in October 2017.
