IA Legislative Conference

The Irrigation Association Legislative Conference provides a forum for industry leaders to reach out to elected lawmakers and senior officials to influence water policy and legislation. The conference focuses on educating policymakers about the positive impact of efficient irrigation on:

• Agricultural water use.
• The managed landscape.
• Mitigating the effects of climate change.

During the three-day conference, IA staff and members:

• Participate in briefings on water issues.
• Meet with elected officials and senior Congressional staff to promote efficient irrigation.
• Discuss industry issues with senior representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Environmental Protection Agency and Department of the Interior.
