CEU Requirements
To remain in good standing, certified irrigation professionals must submit 10 continuing education units through Dec. 31, 2010. After Dec. 31, 2010 certified professionals must submit 20 continuing education units per 2-year cycle to remain in good standing.
CEUs must:
- Be earned in the current certification year/cycle.
- Be submitted by Dec. 31 of the certification year.
- Include a minimum of five (5) CEUs for irrigation-specific continuing education.
Certified professionals must submit the defined number of CEUs for each year or cycle, regardless of number of designations. A set number of CEUs will initally be allowed to carry over as the program transistions into 2-year cycles. Once in the the newly adopted cycle, no CEUs will carry over. Earn CEUs by:
- Attending irrigation and green industry classes, conferences, trade shows or other training.
- Attending business courses or seminars.
- Presenting irrigation-focused technical papers.
- Teaching irrigation classes.
- Judging irrigation competitions.
- Earning additional IA certifications.
- Writing irrigation reference materials or books.
- Serving on an industry association board or committee.
Submit CEUs online at no charge, or mail or fax CEU submissions (a $25 processing fee).
